Kirsten Magnusson is Chief Executive of Building Institute Aotearoa, leading the organisation’s work to connect, support, and advance professionals across New Zealand’s construction sector. With more than 20 years’ experience in sales, marketing, business improvement, and strategic leadership, she has held senior roles across government and industry, including Kāinga Ora, New Zealand Steel, and Fletcher Building.
Kirsten is also the founder of Magnusson & Co, a specialist consultancy serving the construction, infrastructure, and property sectors. Prior to her appointment as Chief Executive, she served on the National Board of Building Institute Aotearoa, including as Deputy Chair. Kirsten is committed to strengthening capability, leadership, and industry collaboration, bringing a broad perspective on the challenges and opportunities shaping New Zealand’s built environment.
